StopWatch Are Hiring For A New Executive Director

StopWatch Is A Coalition Of Civil Society Organisations, Academics, Lawyers, Community Workers, Activists And Young People, Which Campaigns For Fair And Accountable Policing.

Since its inception in 2010, StopWatch has led a wide-ranging campaign challenging the disproportionate and ineffective use of stop and search against people from Black and minority ethnic groups, the increased use of exceptional stop and search powers, and the weakening of accountability mechanisms. They are a uniquely multi-disciplinary team made up of staff, volunteers and members, working together to achieve change through legal and policy analysis, media coverage and commentary, political advocacy, litigation, submissions to national and international organisations and community organising.

They are seeking a new Executive Director who will drive our work forward at a time when, following increases in our funding over the past year, we are in a position to significantly expand both our staff and our range of activities. The post therefore offers an opportunity to lead and shape these exciting developments in our work. They are especially keen to hear from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds or with lived experience of policing.

To apply for this position, please send a comprehensive CV and a supporting statement of no more than three pages of A4 by email as Word or PDF documents to [email protected]. Applicants are strongly advised to use their supporting statement as an opportunity to relate their skills to the job description and person specification.  If you have any queries on any aspect of the recruitment process, need additional information or would like to have an informal discussion, please contact StopWatch at: [email protected] or 0207 324 2970.
